Upset alert! It only took until the second game of the playoffs for an upset to happen. The 6 seeded Rams were able to beat the Seahawks 30 – 20. This game was dominated by the rams and their defense. John Wofford had an early and unfortunate exit with a head injury. In his short time, he went 3-6 for 29 yards. Goff came into the game with about 5 minutes left in the first quarter he ended up with an unimpressive 9-19 for 155 yards and 1 touchdown. Cam Akers had a more impressive game with 28 carries, 131 yards and a touchdown. The Ram’s Jordan Fuller and Troy Reeder both had 7 tackles while Leonard Floyd and Aaron Donald both had 2 sacks.
Wilson had a mediocre game going 11-27 for 174 yards 2 touchdowns and an interception which was returned for a touchdown. Metcalf had and extremely efficient game with 98 yards and 2 touchdowns with only 5 receptions. While Bobby Wanger seemed to be the majority of the Seahawks defense with a monster 16 tackles along with a sack. Close behind Jordyn Brooks and Cedrick Lattimore combined for 14 tackles.
The first half of the game had more scoring but seemed to be monumentally slower than the second half. Defense dominated through the first half. There were no offensive touchdowns through the first 26 minutes of the game. The only touchdown was in interception returned by Darious Williams about 24 minutes into the game.
The second half seemed much more interesting despite less points being scored. The back and forth of the defensive pushes from the rams trying to keep the Seahawks from catching up and the Seahawks trying to stay in the game. Despite a late push and attempt by the Seahawks they were unable to complete a comeback. After Metcalf scored a late touchdown the Seahawks attempted an onside kick but were unable to recover it. They were able to get the ball back after stopping the Rams in four plays but were unable to do anything and turned the ball over ultimately ending the game.
