Broncos Hire George Paton as New GM

Broncos hire George Paton as their new general manager after Elway stepped down from the position earlier this year. Paton was with the Minnesota Vikings as the vice president, player personnel and assistant general manager for 14 years. Paton came into Denver on Tuesday for a tour and second interview and will be hopefully staying in Denver for a long time. In those 14 years Paton helped the Vikings to 6 playoff appearances and an NFC championship appearance. Despite Elway stepping down from the role of general manager he will continue in his role as president of football operations. A hire like Paton may just what the Broncos need. A fresh point of view from one of the best personnel evaluators there is could help the Broncos find the missing pieces and recover from their 5-year purgatory of not being good enough t make the playoffs and not being bad enough to blow up the roster. This may help bring the Broncos from their current state to a team that competes and is a team to watch out for.
