1. Trevor Lawrence is the highest touted QB prospect since Andrew Luck and before him Peyton Manning. Not only has Lawrence shown his talents on the field with a 66.6% completion percentage, just over 10,000 yards, 90 touchdowns and just 17 interceptions in his three-year career with the Tigers he has also demonstrated leadership. He led the tiger to a 34-2 record over his career. He looked like the sure-fire #1 pick for this draft after his freshman year and continued to show this promise over the past two years. This along with the potential hiring of Urban Meyer will hopefully bring the Jaguars out of the hole they have been in since the late 90s.
2. Penei Sewell is hands down the best offensive lineman prospect in this draft and arguably the bets player in the draft. Sewell let up just one sack in 678 pass plays. In his time Oregon went 21-6 rushing for 4,780 yards averaging 177 rushing yards per game. Sewell would be the perfect fit with the Jets on the opposite side of Beckton giving them two of the youngest and best tackles in the league.
3. Ja’Marr Chase is a great fit on the dolphins to help Tagovailoa or Fitzpatrick find targets down field. Chase is also the best receiver in this draft with 2,098 yards, 23 touchdowns and 107 receptions in his two years at LSU. He is the kind of down field threat that could make an immediate impact. He does not posses anything that sets him apart from other receivers, but he does not show any area of concern other than his speed in change of direction. Chase would be a great fit in Miami and help jumpstart the passing game for the Dolphins.
4. With an aging and declining Matt Ryan, it seems like it is time for a new quarterback in Atlanta and Wilson would fit like a glove into Atlanta’s offensive scheme. With weapons like Ridley and Jones, Wilson should be able to come in with very few adjustments and make a difference while bringing some new blood into the organization while not needing an overhaul in the playbook.
5. Samuel Cosmi had quite an impressive career at Texas and has shown plenty of promise as an offensive tackle in his three years. He was extremely physical and was able to move well in a pass set. He is one piece in a large puzzle in protecting Burrow and hopefully opening the running game for Bernard.
6. Patrick Surtain II will be a fix for a very questionable Eagles secondary. Being able to fix this defense is the first step in being able to win in the NFC East and other closer games against teams that exploited their weak secondary.
7. Devonta Smith coming off a Heisman year is hard to ignore. A struggling Detroit offense is in dire need of another offensive weapon to help Stafford. Along with Smith being the best available player left in the draft.
8. Carolina could potentially go for a quarterback to but with there being plenty of serviceable quarterbacks that could be available throughout the offseason. Again, Pitts is the best available but would also be a valuable asset to the Panthers to replace Olsen giving whoever is playing quarterback a reliable target downfield.
9. Micah Parsons would fill a void in the Broncos defense. Parsons would complete the Broncos linebacker core they have been trying to fill since 2015. This could be the key to completing the defense which was consistently one player away through the season due to injuries.
10. Caleb Farley would solve some big problems in Dallas. Dallas’ defense has not been consistently good for a couple years now. Being able to improve their pass defense allows for the cowboys to have at least one consistent, high performing part of defense.
